Intended Use:

The Guedel Oropharyngeal Airway is a medical device used in the maintenance and management of breathing for an unconscious or anaesthetised patient. Inserted in the mouth, and extending to the base of the tongue, the device is designed to open or maintain a patent airway by supporting the tongue, to prevent partial or total obstruction and maintaining a patent airflow through the central lumen of the device. Airways are available in a wide range of sizes to accommodate the oropharyngeal anatomy of all patient groups from neonatal and paediatric to adult, and each size is clearly colour–coded to aid identification. The Guedel Airway is an established design routinely chosen by Health Care Professionals, and is used in conjunction with oxygen masks, ventilation bags etc to establish or maintain respiratory function.
