• They are made of a very soft transparent plastic that allows for easy monitoring and provides more comfort to the patient.
• This mask has a configuration that prevents re–breathing and allows exhaled gas to escape through a low–resistance check valve.
• The recommended oxygen delivery for the high concentration mask is between 8 and 12 litres per minute.
• The oxygen inlet and the air dilution inlet are located at the front of the mask, which flows into the reservoir bag from where it is inhaled by the patient.
• Additional room air can be introduced or prevented by regulating the flapper valves around the exhalation ports, which decreases or increases the concentration of oxygen.
• A tight seal to the face is not required.
• A 1000 ml reservoir bag ensures sufficient oxygen supply and delivery of high percentage fiO2.
