Pre–operative skin preparation for minor surgical procedures includes an alcohol–based chlorhexidine solution in a convenient spray format. Chlorhexidine gluconate forms a persistent and cumulative antimicrobial barrier, effective for at least 6 hours. It acts rapidly and demonstrates broad–spectrum efficacy against gram–positive and gram–negative bacteria, yeast, fungi, and viruses.
